My take: arguably the best place to start in the points game. For a low annual fee of $95, you’ll unlock Chase’s excellent transfer partners to supercharge the value of your points. It pairs nicely with other zero-annual-fee cards, such as the Freedom Flex and Freedom Unlimited.
Capital One Venture X
Current bonus: Earn 75,000 Capital One miles after you spend $4,000 on purchases within 3 months of account opening!*
My take: one of the best “keeper” cards in the game. The annual fee ($395) is much lower than other premium cards and just a few of the many benefits ($300 annual travel credit, 10k miles each card anniversary, access to Capital One’s gorgeous and ever-expanding lounge network) more than make up for the fee.
Chase Bonvoy Boundless
Current bonus: Earn 4 Free Night Awards (each worth up to 50k points) after you spend $4,000 on purchases within 4 months of account opening!*
My take: with newly announced credits, this card has just become my favorite “keeper” hotel card. A $95 annual fee can more than easily be made up by some of its benefits, including the new $100 annual airfare credit, 15 Bonvoy Elite Night Credits, and 35k Free Night Certificate.
